Summary
Highland park follows the fortunes of a Detroit area high school faculty as budget cuts eliminate most of their jobs. After decades of pooling their money on the same lotto numbers to no avail, this close knit group of friends have all but lost hope when a record jackpot gives them a chance to turn their lives, and community, around. Facing pressure from a ruthlessly ambitious mayor, against almost insurmountable odds they discover that luck is actually in the eye of the beholder.
