This enjoyable action film is a must-see prequel for fans of the original Star Trek series. Set a little before the original series begins, all the main crew members are there, played by new, young actors. The new actors capture the personae of the crew members pretty well, Spock and McCoy especially. There are some dandy plot twists that surprise but make sense as they happen.
